Porsche Group B 930 Project

The Idea

In the Spring of 2001, my wife and I went to Road America to watch the SVRA vintage car races.  We sat at turn 5 and spent the afternoon watching Porsches, Cameros, Mustangs, Corvettes, and an array of other beautiful vintage race cars race for 200 miles.  When it was over, I knew one day I would have to be behind the wheel of one of those cars.

Being a 930 fanatic, I knew I wanted to race some sort of vintage 930 derivative.   The 934 and 935 were not options since an entry level 934 was at least $90,000.   I found my answer when I read an article in the June 2002 of Panorama (The Porsche Club of America's monthly magazine) about the Group B 930.  After further research (Primarily Paul Frere's "Porsche 911 Story"), I decided to convert an original Porsche 930 to Group B specification.
